Job Description
Contract Type: Full-Time, 3–6 Month Assignment
Openings: 6 positions (coverage across 4 shifts)
Position Summary
American Panel (JA Solar) is seeking experienced Manufacturing Culture & Performance Consultants to join our operations team on a 3–6 month full-time contract. These consultants will play a critical role in promoting floor discipline, reinforcing positive workplace culture, and driving accountability across all shifts.
This role is ideal for seasoned leaders with 20+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environments. Consultants will serve as a high-visibility presence on the floor, guiding both associates and supervisors, ensuring policies are followed, and helping maintain a respectful, efficient, and standards-driven workplace. This is not a traditional supervisor role—it is a focused initiative to help stabilize and strengthen our production culture.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor floor culture in real time, observing team behavior, shift execution, and general adherence to SOPs, policies, and expectations.
Engage directly with associates to reinforce professionalism, productivity, attendance, and code of conduct.
Support production supervisors in addressing performance gaps and providing on-the-spot coaching and redirection when needed.
Identify recurring behavioral patterns and recommend appropriate interventions to leadership and HR.
Partner with operations leaders to promote consistency in rule enforcement across all shifts.
Document and communicate trends related to culture, discipline, or performance with transparency and fairness.
Participate in meetings, write brief reports, and offer recommendations to strengthen morale, reliability, and team cohesion.
Serve as a visible leadership presence on the production floor—particularly during start-ups, shift changes, or areas with performance concerns.
Assist with special projects, including coaching frontline leaders and advising on progressive discipline where appropriate.
Qualifications
20+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations
Proven ability to enforce workplace standards while maintaining professionalism and respect
Comfortable coaching both associates and frontline supervisors
Strong documentation and observation skills
Prior consulting or contract-based experience preferred
Familiarity with performance management systems, attendance policies, and shift operations
High emotional intelligence and ability to remain impartial in challenging situations
Able to work on-site, full-time across assigned shifts (including nights or weekends if required)
Shift Coverage
This initiative includes 6 full-time consultants across 4 production shifts. Candidates must be flexible in shift assignment and able to work on the production floor for the majority of their day.
